BIO

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Liverpool Hope University. I teach across Social Work and Social Care and specialise in issues surrounding children and families.

My teaching and research specialises in a number of core areas. I have a strong background in researching the care experience in Scotland. This includes examing the outcomes for looked after children as well as influential work around adoption. More recently I have researched therapeutic practice around sexual violence and domestic abuse services.

Prior to joining Liverpool Hope University in 2015 I worked as a full time researcher for the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration and the Univerity of Glasgow, also researching children's lives and professional support.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor.
